Uhrphoria 2026: where the watch community comes together

On June 6, 2026, the Fahrwerk venue in Groß-Zimmern became a beacon for watch enthusiasts from across the region. Florian Bach (flomp89) and Mario Franyi had invited everyone to the third edition of Uhrphoria – a family-friendly event where brands, microbrands, watchmakers, and the community come together. The result was remarkable: Here, it wasn’t just collectors gathering, but people who genuinely want to experience the creators and stories behind every timepiece up close.

An atmosphere to fall in love with

The moment you enter the venue, you feel it immediately: This isn’t a sterile trade show floor, but a temporary home for watch enthusiasts. The red carpet sets the tone right from the entrance with a certain flair, connecting the hall with the noble theme of watches. Florian Bach opened the evening with an energetic speech full of conviction: this is about community, about dialogue between watchmakers and lovers of horology, about passion for mechanical timepieces. This message resonated throughout the night like a red thread – not about prestige or exclusivity, but about real human connections.

What’s particularly remarkable: Uhrphoria is completely family-friendly. While adults immerse themselves in the showcases, the smallest visitors are welcome and entertained. There’s catering, a relaxed atmosphere – and most importantly, people who genuinely love talking about their passion.

The brands: an international spectrum

The exhibitor list shows just how diverse the European watch scene is: German brands like Stowa, French manufactures like Charlie Paris and Frederique Constant, and brands from Poland were also represented. Each one tells its own story of conviction and the determination to create something truly special.

Encounters that last

But the best part of Uhrphoria isn’t the brands – it’s the people behind them. Meeting these individuals in person is what makes it special. Take Dirk Assmann from Bomb Frog, for example. Here stands a former German Navy mine diver with 30 years of service, who created his watches from a very practical perspective. During our humorous conversation, it quickly becomes clear: these watches aren’t toys, but the result of genuine conviction. They were created because conventional watches failed under extreme conditions. Dirk and his wife are remarkably personable – real people sharing their passion with unbounded enthusiasm.

I also finally had the chance to meet Mike Stuffler – an extremely well-connected and deeply involved figure in the event – and his wife Monika in person, as well as colleagues from the redbar Germany Chapter and many other like-minded enthusiasts.

What the… Bombfrog?

I’m particularly fascinated by the story of Bomb Frog: watches born not from marketing exercises, but from genuine need. Dirk Assmann knew that a mine diver needs a watch he can rely on 100 percent – literally a matter of life and death. Most of his watches therefore bear the insignias of special forces units and police teams worldwide, because they use these “tools” in the field. This stands in stark contrast to arbitrary mass production: watches with purpose and meaning. There’s even a Turtle variant, kids’ watches – for the little minesweepers 😉 – and carbon, titanium, or helium valves for the deep divers among us.

Conclusion: this is the future of watch culture

Uhrphoria 2026 wasn’t just an event – it was proof that Germany’s independent watch scene is alive, diverse, and forward-looking. The family atmosphere, the openness between watchmakers and enthusiasts, the focus on independent watch brands – all of this makes this event something truly special. You don’t sit in vast halls but speak with the people whose names are engraved on the watches. You don’t hear marketing campaigns but real stories.

The next edition can’t come soon enough. Uhrphoria 2026 was an event full of passion, wit, charm, and most importantly: genuine respect for what these people create. And that’s exactly what keeps watch culture alive.
